The Most Beautiful Beaches of the Amalfi coast

Suitcase ready and destination: the fantastic Amalfi Coast, of course!
Once You arrive in this paradise that goes from Vietri sul Mare to Positano, covering about 55 km in length, You will be overwhelmed by the beauty and wild nature of this place. First thing to do? Definitely a nice dip in these crystal clear waters, but all beaches of Amalfi Coast are different and each one has different characteristics. Here is the practical guide of Masavillas to the most beautiful beaches of the Amalfi Coast!

Gavitella Beach – Praiano

la spiaggia della gavitella praiano

Let’s start from the closest beach to us: the Gavitella.
Once in Piazza San Gennaro, you will have to face a long staircase, but believe us, it is worth it. During the journey you can admire the view of Positano and the Faraglioni of Capri, at the end of which
you will reach a small jewel of about thirty meters, consisting of pebbles and crystal clear waters.
Ideal for…..most trained!

Marina Grande Beach -Positano

One of the best known beaches on the Amalfi Coast, Marina Grande is the main beach of Positano, chosen by many VIPs as a destination for their holidays. Behind You the colors of the city, in front of you the sea, what else? Maybe an aperitif waiting for the sunset.
Ideal For…..true fashionistas

Cavallo Morto (Dead Horse) Beach – Maiori

la spiaggia del cavallo mortoDon’t be afraid of this sinister name, the Cavallo Morto beach in Maiori is a true paradise made of white sand and blue sea. There are two stories associated with this name: the first is about how – at the beginning of the 19th century – this beach was the place where the bodies of the horses fallen from work were thrown muleteer of the coast; the second, more imaginative, recounts a horse that has incredibly survived the fallen from the bridge, but destined to die of hardship on the beach, because it is no longer recoverable.
Only the bravest!

Fiordo di Furore beach – Furore

la spiaggia del fiordo di furoreWe are located between Furore and Conca dei Marini, on the SS163 state road (we recommend parking in Praiano and move with the shuttle), and even in this case You will have to face a lot of steps to get to beach. From the beach You can enjoy an incredible panorama, framed in the rock and from the bridge where every July 1st there is a very famous and breathtaking diving competition.

Duoglio Beach – Amalfi

spiaggia del duoglio amalfi

One of the most hidden beaches of the Amalfi Coast, sunny until the early afternoon, the Spiaggia del Duoglio is reachable either through a long salina (what new or through a boat that leaves from Amalfi.
Let yourself be conquered by the approximately 170 meters of pebbles and by one of the clearest seas of the Coast Amalfi.
Ideal for early risers

La Marina – Cetara

spiaggia della marina cetaraHere we are in the heart of the village, in the small village among the fishermen. It is a beautiful beach that is easy to reach and
with a truly charming and characteristic atmosphere.
A little curiosity: it is one of the youngest beaches on the Amalfi Coast, formed after the earthquake from the 1980s.
For the lazy!

Trekking: 5 excursions not to be missed in Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast is not only beaches and good food but it is also nature and sport: The hiking trails are scattered throughout the coast which offer views and kind experiences. So, backpack and suitable shoes, here is our personal ranking of the best hiking trails in Amalfi Coast

5) Volpe Pescatrice – Furore LOW DIFFICULTY

In fifth place a short excursion, not excessively difficult, but very exciting: it starts from the Church of S. Elia in Furore up to the Fiordo di Furore in about 40 minutes.
A staircase in the shade of a carob tree will trace the ancient path of the farmer-fisherman. Initially steep, however, You will be able to enjoy the seaview as you go down: the final stop is a village of fishermen consisting of perched houses.

4) Maiori – San Nicola Cloister – Minori LOW DIFFICULTY

The aim of the route is to reach San Nicola Cloister between Maiori and Minori (You could start from both villages) for this suggestive mountain path with low difficulty and a duration of about 2 hours. We are not excessively high but You can still enjoy the view of the peaks of Sant’Angelo, Finestra and Demanio Mountains.

3) Praia – Bomerano – Marina di Praia MEDIUM DIFFICULTY

We increase a bit of difficulty with a particular path closest to Masavillas from Bomerano to Marina di Praia for about 4 km. Departure from the central square of Bomerano, an hamlet of Agerola, walking on the mule track to reach the cave of Santa Barbara. From there, go to Praiano and Vettica Maggiore and then move on to the coastal road.

2) Valle delle Ferriere – Amalfi – Scala LOW DIFFICULTY

A real natural oasis, an immersion in the green with the typical atmosphere of canyons: a fantasy novel. It is possible to reach the Valle delle Ferriere or from Amalfi where the route will be uphill or from Minuta di Scala where the path will be downhill. During this path, You will cross Valle dei Mulini – with the remains of
ancient paper mills – up to the Ferriere crossed by the Canneto stream.

1) Path of Gods – Agerola – Positano MEDIUM DIFFICULTY

The most famous path of the Amalfi Coast, about 5 hours of walking with an altitude difference of 600 meters. For this reason, it’s called “of the gods” for the divine landscape that you can enjoy from there. An atmosphere immersed in silence and Capri in front of you. Continuing You will arrive at the Biscotto Cave and cross Serra Mountain. Once arrived in Nocelle we recommend a last effort: 1500 steps separate You from Positano where You can take a bath regenerating before facing the return.
